Process integration for Greening the footprint – Experience of Tata Chemicals
Mr. S G Choudhari
Tata Chemicals has large scale manufacturing of bulk chemicals like soda ash, salt, cement at it chemicals complex at Mithapur and Urea fertilizer at the Babrala plant and phosphate fertilizers at Halida and Biofuels Project at Nanded. Over the years the focus was on greening the operational ecological footprint by process integration and intensification by debottlenecking.

Tata Chemicals has now taken up new initiatives under its Innovation Center to look at new areas in nano-bio space and extend them to the bulk chemical manufacturing to open up new horizons of green chemistry. These experiences and outcomes are presented in this case study presentation.
