Green Processes & measurements :

6th December, Day I; Timing:14:00-17:00

Venue: Ballroom II

For more than 100 years, chemical manufacturing is done using synthetic processes with focus on quality, yield and productivity. At present we are manufacturing more than 80,000 chemicals in ever-increasing volume and capacities. More than 95%  of these chemicals, use synthetic processes leading to various environmental challenges.  As we move forward in the 21st century with serious concerns for environmental sustainability, there is an urgent need for innovation with the context of environmental sustainability. These realities open up whole new opportunity to explore ‘green’ process as a new paradigm.

The Green Processes & Measurements Seminar will focus on bringing forth technical know-how of solutions, technologies and services to address the need for reducing E-factor, to bring down water footprint, optimize energy consumption leading to effective, efficient process with lower waste and toxicity and higher safety.

Successful case-studies will be shared on how the overall manufacturing cost were reduced by conducting process at normal pressure and temperature conditions, effective recycle of reaction extraction medium, new route selection, safer reagents and solvents with industrial ecology approach.

This Seminar will be also be an opportunity for the attendees to learn about  green standards and specifications, and to create a roadmap with tools needed to integrate the greening of a multi-step manufacturing process.

  • Huge congrats for organizing such a great green chemistry conference. I enjoyed every bit of it. Those two days provided me real feedback about Indian industries approach towards green chemistry. My 180 degree seminar was highly appreciated by the audience and several industries are now in touch with me for some serious collaboration. It was great event and you should have it every year. You should also invite more active academicians in the field. Once again I like to congratulate both of you for the success of this event.
